Anyone who has made a careful, earnest, intelligent study of the Word of God, applying the rule laid down in 2 Tim. 2:16, can hardly fail to notice how frequently God's order is reversed. Attempts are made to bring to agreement things that are opposite and to unite things that God has purposed to keep separate. Things that are harmonious are made to disagree; things that are the same are set over against one another.
As an illustration, we call your attention to the following:
1. THE TEACHINGS OF JESUS ARE CONSIDERED AS BEING SUPERIOR; AND, THEREFORE, MORE BINDING UPON US THAN THE TEACHINGS OF PAUL.

SAVED AND SECURE
I John 5:13 “These things have I written unto you that believe
on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have
eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”
By Rev. Dean Beaty 1/13/09
It is great to know for certain that our sins are washed away.
Just as faithful is His promise that He’ll keep us day by day.
On the cross all sins were paid for by the blood that Jesus shed.
All our sins both past and future, now we have no more to dread.
Trust the promise Jesus gave us; that we’re held in God’s great grip.
Almighty God then holds our Savior therefore we can never slip.*
Do you think that once in heaven you would ever be kicked out?
Even now our names are written. They’re safely kept so do not doubt

This is my story.... (AKA, my "testimony"-- if I HAVE to use that word!)

It always feels so weird, writing my "testimony." First of all, I don't like the word "testimony." But, I guess it just means, "This is my story." So, I'll go with that.
THIS IS MY STORY!
I was born in the church. Well, okay, not physically "born" IN the church-- my momma did not GIVE BIRTH to me on a red crushed-velvet pew cushion! However, I probably first started going to church with my mom and sister when I was about 2 years old. (Dad joined us a few months later, after showing up for his first church service on a motorcycle, drunk as a skunk! Now he's a deacon in that very same church-- so it all worked out well!)

FEED UPON GOD’S WORD
By Rev. Dean Beaty 1/26/09
Psalm 119:105&165 “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
“Great peace have they which love Thy law: and nothing shall offend* them.” (KJV)
*Cause to stumble
Some folk revere the Bible, while other people read it.
Also some will study it, while other people heed it.
Some treat it as a horse shoe in hopes it brings good luck.
While others only read it when in trouble they are stuck.
God’s Word is like an anchor that holds when storm winds blow.
We must hide it in our hearts so it’s there where e’er we go.
We need to read it daily as the original soul food,
To keep the spirit healthy and our love for God renewed.
