Scripture Reading and Thoughts - July 14, 2008

TODAY'S READING: Leviticus 14:1-15:33; 2 Kings 7:3-20; Matthew 9:20-26; Mark 5:24b-34; Luke 8:42b-48; Hebrews 13:4Leviticus 14:1-9This is what God commanded Israel to do when someone was healed of tzara'at. First, he was again to go to the priest to be examined. Second, he was to offer a sacrifice or offering. This offering is unique from the others we have looked at. It consists of two birds. One is to be killed. The other is to be dipped in the blood of the killed bird and set free. Again, this is a great picture for us. We are cleansed and healed of our sin. Yeshua was slaughtered for us, and we have been covered in His blood and set free. Third, there was a time of testing. The cleansed person was allowed back in the camp, but stayed outside his tent and was to be examined for seven days.
