TODAY'S SCRIPTURE READING: Exodus 30:11-34:35; 1 Kings 18:1-39; Luke 11:14-20; Acts 7:35-8:1; 1 Corinthians 10:1-13; 2 Corinthians 3:1-18The Exodus passage is a review of the instructions for the Tabernacle. One of the things about these instructions is how specific YHWH is. He doesn't speak ambiguosly. He knows exactly what He wants done and He communicates it to Moses and Israel. But He doesn't just say what to do. Exodus 31:1-11 is a description of people He has set aside to complete the work."ADONAI (YHWH) said to Moshe, 'I hav singled out B'tzal'el the so of Uri the son of Hur, of the tribe of Yhudah. I have filled him with the Spirit of God - with wisdom, understanding and knowledge concerning every kind of artisanry. He is a master of design in gold, silver, bronze, cutting precious stones to be set, woodcarving and every other craft."I have also appointed as his assitant Oholi-av the son of Achisamakh, of the tribe of Dan. Morevor, I have endowed all the craftsmen with the wisdom to make everything I have ordered you - the tent of meeting, the ark for the testimony, the ark-cover above it, all the furnishings of the tent, the table and its utensils, the pure menorah and all its utensils, the incense altar, the altar for burnt offerings and all its untensils, the basin and its base, the garments for officiating, the holy garments for Aharon the cohen and the garments for his sons, so that they can serve in the office of cohen, the anointing oil and the incense of aromatic spicces for the Holy Place; they are to make everything just as I have ordered you.'"Do you see it? Do you see how YHWH has set aside specific people with specific gifts to accomplish His work?Please hear me on this: You CANNOT sit back and think that YHWH wants you to watch. He has singled YOU OUT! You have a purpose ahead of you. YHWH's work will be done. But He has chosen YOU to be a part of it! Are you on board, or are you sitting on the sidelines?Jump in!David
